Art fair @ Lagos Museum

ON Friday, May 14, the premises of the
National Museum Lagos will be a bee-hive of
activities as it joined museums all over the
world to celebrate the 2010 International
Museum Day. Thousands of local/
international tourists, stakeholders,
government agencies, corporate
organizations, media practitioners and
visitors are expected to participate in the
week-long celebration.
Created by the International Council of
Museum in 1977, the International Museum
Day is to encourage awareness on the role
of museums in the development of society.
The 2010 International Museum Day is
anchored on the theme "Museum for Social
Harmony" which underlines the need for
museum to be an effective tool for positive
change and social development. Activities
slated for the week include Miss Museum
Beauty Pageant, on Friday, May 14; Open
Day/Art Fair tagged Ability in Disability:
Celebrating the special people on Monday,
May 17 as well as Public Awareness/Road
Show on Tuesday, May 18.
