From Mnet comes Comedy Club

The comedy industry in Nigeria has just
received a boost courtesy of M-Net,
premium content provider for DStv, thanks
to the introduction of the Comedy Club
circuit. The second season of this
increasingly popular show has just made its
debut.
The Comedy Club, different from the open
mic events, will offer some of the
greenhorns a chance to hone their craft and
possibly break into the professional stage.
Moreover, newcomers are expected to
perform alongside established acts.
This Comedy Club - Live in Lagos initiative
by M-Net, which started in 2009, provides
support for a circuit that hosts the
comedians on regular basis.
Weekly, people from different walks of life
gather at a select venue to listen to the acts
perform. There will also be a life band, the
Sharp Band, to add verve to the occasion
with their melodious voices, exotic dancing
steps, and assorted music for the listening
pleasure of the audience.
It doesn't stop there. Through the show's
anchor, IK Osakioduwa - the host of BBA
Revolution, another M-Net production - the
audience is made to experience the new
dimension of comedy while the viewers at
home enjoy quality time in front of their
TVs, watching the performances.
