Stephanie Okere join famous actresses in U.S summit

Stephanie Okereke seems to be
going up and up.
Besides being a wonderful
actress, she also did wonders
with her international movie,
Through The Glass, and she
actually is the brain behind New
York Film Academy coming to
Nigeria.
But our movie gal is still soaring.
Life and Beat gathered that
Steph, for her giant strides in
the nation's motion picture
industry, has been selected to
feature in the March 12, 2010,
opening night play of Seven, in
New York, US.
The three-day summit entitled
Women in the World: Stories and
Solutions, co-hosted by The Daily
Beast, Vital Voices Global
Partnership, Diane von
Furstenberg, and the UN
Foundation, would also have in
attendance the US Secretary of
State, Hillary Clinton, among
other leading female role models
and icons, across the globe.
Amazingly, Okereke is one of the
seven acclaimed actors that
would dramatise the issues
highlighted in the play.
Hollywood top actress, Meryl
Streep heads the line-up, which
includes Marcia Gay Harden,
Shohreh Aghdashloo, Archie
Panjabi, Julyana Soelistyo and
Lauren VĂ©lez.
The reading is being directed by
celebrated Broadway director,
Julie Taymor in an evening made
possible by HP.
Life and Beat gathered that Mrs.
Clinton, will introduce the
exclusive one-night reading at
the Hudson Theatre of Seven.
The documentary play was
created for Vital Voices Global
Partnership, to honour the
courage of brave female
activists from Afghanistan,
Cambodia, Guatemala, Nigeria,
Northern Ireland, Pakistan and
Russia.
Seven, is a collaboration by
playwrights Paula Cizmar,
Catherine Filloux, Gail Kriegel,
Carol K. Mack, Ruth Margraff,
Anna Deavere Smith, and Susan
Yankowitz.
