KC hit registry with new bride

By this time next week, he
would have put paid to all
romance rumours milling about
town
concerning him. Then, he would
have formalised his marriage
intentions with his lucky bride
in a Lagos registry.
Kingsley Okonkwo, the KC of
pop singing duo KC Presh,
popularly dubbed ‘Sengemenge’,
will be tying the knots with an
Ogbaru, Anambra State born
Ijeoma Oduah after presenting
to her a ‘hundred per cent’
diamond ring for engagement,
in a balloon, floating 40, 000ft
above Dubai grounds last
month.
The singer who was once
romantically linked with actress
Ebube Nwagbo has moved out
of the twin duplex he shared
with his partner, Presh, in
preparation for marriage. He
now lives in another duplex on
the same street in Ojodu, Lagos.
KC’s immediate family members
(and Presh, his singing partner)
were traditionally introduced to
Ijeomas ’ in her parents’ Okota
residence earlier in January. Fair
and pretty Ijeoma, 23, is a 300L
Mass Communication
undergraduate at the University
of Lagos.
The lovers met sometime last
year, and according to KC,
Ijeoma was unaware of his
status until their third meeting.
He described her as ‘very
faithful, a good cook, not loud
and with proper home training
in spite of growing up in Lagos’,
and these were his attractions
to her.
With plans underway for a
proper traditional engagement,
two months from now, in
Ogbaru, the Oduah ’s home town
in Anambra state, KC’s already
spoiling wife with a 2010 model
of Honda Richland truck, among
other betrothal gifts. A white
wedding is being planned for
the much later part of the year.
Kingsley ’s popular romance with
Nollywood’s Ebube Nwagbo
reportedly hit the rocks in
August last year but was kept
quiet until KC ’s secret
engagement to Ijeoma burst the
bubble.
Meanwhile, Presh might be tying
the knots sometime this year
too. It was whispered to us that
the Presh of KC Presh is in a
serious relationship, although
he ’s not making details public.
Speaking on the singing career
they both project, KC says they
(the duo) are decided not to let
marriage get in the way of their
music.
