Hurbert Bals bail out Nollywood director

Nigeria film director and graduate of
Nigeria ’s premiere film school, the National
Film Institute, Jos, Kenneth Gyang has been
selected to benefit from the Hubert Bals Fund
in Netherland for the production of his film
“ Confusion Na Wa”. He was once recognized
as the youngest film maker in Nigeria years
ago.
The film also has secured a distribution deal
for Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Gyang who has continued to beef up his
profile partnered with the British
Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) as director
on “Wetin Dey”. Equally, he produced and
directed the “Finding Aisha” series for which
he won the Young Producer Award at the
last edition of The Future Awards.

The Hubert Bals Fund of the International
Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) selected 29
projects to be given grants for script
development, digital production, post-
production, distribution and workshops. In
its Spring 2010 selection, the Fund is said to
have provided 450,000 Euro for projects
from 22 countries.
