A war of words have been
averted between Munachi Abii and Rap Lord Mode 9. Their scuffle began
shortly after the Nokia “Don’t break The Beat” competition which held
about two months ago.
Muna who was compere of
the show had disagreed with the judges final decision of the winner
insisting that her opinion also mattered.
It did not go down well
with Mode 9 who was one of the Judges. He quickly corrected her; asking
that she respect their decision as Judges but Muna bluntly asked him to
“pass the mic”.
Muna, however, has since apologised. She tweeted I
want us to be cool like before we were before the Nokia show, please
accept my apology. Modey I know we had a chat and still face to face but
to stop all this madness I’m sorry boo.
Mode 9 is yet to reply
to this but it’s evident he holds no grudges against her. However Muna’s
PR company have blasted the press. An excerpt of the statement from RMG
Company reads
“…Lastly,
I would like to reiterate that this issue will not be resolved publicly
and played out in the media or on blog pages for the amusement and
enjoyment of gossip junkies and gist merchants.
I’m
sorry to disappoint those who are waiting with their mouths open, there
will be no leaked emails, back and forth exclusive interviews or Twitter
“gangsterisms”.
At least
not from our side, and as you all know, Mode 9 is big a man enough not
to subscribe to media hype over something that, quite rightly, he took
as disrespectful but not life threatening. This is Hip Hop, not the
Civil War Part 2.”
A poll of opinions
from those who have seen this statement side by side Muna’s very matured
approach of the matter have agreed that Munachi Abii was better at
handling the situation.
