Thirty nine years after the duo first played on the same stage in 1973, Habour Point events centre is action spot on Childen’s Day May 27 as the King of World beat King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Commander Ebenezer Obey square up in what many have described as the show the century.
The Juju icons are however involved in a no winner takes all contest. They will be playing for Charity and also in celebration of the 70th birthday of the Evangelist Obey and King Sunny Ade’s 50years on stage.
Otunba Ayodeji Osibogun whose company WTC is putting together the concert disclosed that the high point of the show will be the introduction of Fatai Rolling Dollar and Baba Sala as the compere of the night.
Both gentlemen he said played vital roles in the early development of the Juju icons. “While it was Baba Sala that trained King Sunny Ade, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey learned his trade under the keen eyes of Fatai Rolling Dollar” the former broadcaster turned businessman revealed.
King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Obey both pledged to make the show a memorable one for Nigerians.
