None of the above. Sadly, the name stands for much more than an online trend, it represents an atrocity. Celebrities have been reaching out to the Invisible Children organization, trying to raise awareness about an evil Ugandan warlord---Joseph Kony. He's one of the most wanted war criminals, having kidnapped tens of thousands of African children.
Kony is the leader of a child army and child prostitution ring, and a YouTube video was produced, based on a documentary, begging for celebrity support to raise awareness about the atrocities.
"Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time is now," the video reads.
In the video, producers threw in a picture of Rihanna, and the singer saw the video and was moved by the story. She called the organization and set up a meeting, wanting to create another video to keep the topic buzzing.
The video features Ugandan children talking about the horrors they've lived through.
"My brother tried to escape. Then they killed him…they cut his neck," one child told the camera. "I saw."
The video also features packed-to-the brim refugee camps.
"This has been going on for years?" a producer says. "If this happened one night in America, it would be on the cover of Newsweek."
George Clooney, an outspoken activist, is once again using the public's interest in the world of entertainment to draw attention to the cause.
"I'd like indicted war criminals to enjoy the same level of celebrity as me," George Clooney said. "That seems fair."
