At the end of 2011, Snooki and then-boyfriend Jionii went to B&B Jewelers in New Jersey to pick up some diamond bangles but Snooks also started browsing the engagement ring section.
“She put on a couple of rings – she was giving him some hints,” says owner Ben Bekdas tells People.
“She wanted something very nice, something that’s gonna be timeless and with diamonds all around,” adds Bekdas, “And that’s what he actually got her.”
Little did Snooki know that Jionni went back and bought her the ring she was browsing.
The ring Jionni ended up buying featured an eternity band with two carats worth of diamonds, a central 3.2-carat princess-cut stone set in platinum and the whole ring is rumored to cost around $55,000. It's about 5 carats total.
“They’re phenomenal stones,” says Bekdas, “And it was all custom-built the way they asked for it.”
If you’re wondering how Snooki and Jionni were able to accurately design an engagement ring, when Snooki’s usual word-bank consists of “jello shots,” “hot tub” and “call a cab,” the store owner noted “Both Nicole and Jionni are very well spoken.”
Even though we JUST found out about the engagement, Jionni popped the question on Valentine’s Day. How romantic. Were they eating spaghetti and riding on a gondola too? Gahhh.
