"Entertainment Tonight" is reporting Dick Clark will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered over the Pacific Ocean, however, one source says there will be no funeral.
It is unclear if a memorial has been planned for family and friends of the star and there has been no mention of a public service.
Clark, an icon of the small screen and radio passed away on Wednesday at the age of 82 from a massive heart attack.
On Wednesday’s episode of "American Idol," Ryan Seacrest paid tribute to Dick Clark saying, “Without Dick, a show like this would not exist. He will be greatly missed.”
Dick Clark was the brainchild behind “American Bandstand” which inspired shows like "TRL," "American Idol", and networks like MTV, VH1, and Fuse.
Dick Clark Productions is responsible for hit shows like the “American Music Awards” and his annual “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”
Clark suffered a stroke in 2004 that left him partially paralyzed and struggling to speak. But that didn’t stop him from making appearances on his New Year's Eve show year after year.
Clark is survived by his three children and his wife Keri Wigton, whom he married in 1977.
