Groundbreaking movie.IJE.hit cinema

Ije, the movie that has got
everyone talking in America and
beyond is finally home. The
movie, which was shot on 35MM
(film), is in Nigeria, ready to hit
the cinema any moment from
now.
Ije, which means The Journey, is
a big budget movie that stars
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde,
Genevieve Nnaji, Clem Ohaneze,
and other international stars.
It is the story of an immigrant,
but told in a different way and
with good picture quality that
turns heads. ‘Ije tells a tale of
Chioma, a child growing up in
the Nigerian countryside, who
warned her restless sister, Anya,
about the trappings of the
American Dream.
Now, ten years later, Anya is
accused of killing three men in a
Hollywood Hills mansion—one
of them her record-producer-
husband. Chioma travels from
Nigeria to Los Angeles, and with
the help of a young, unproven
attorney, discovers that the
dark secret her sister wants to
keep hidden might be the only
thing that can win her freedom.
It was produced and directed by
a young Nigerian, Chineze
Anyaene who studied film at
New York Film Academy.
Those who have seen this movie
are already rooting for it as the
movie to beat in 2010. Will it
break history? Only time would
tell.
