Paris Hilton has reportedly been
arrested in South Africa! According to
the Times Live the heiress was
escorted from the Nelson Mandela Bay
Stadium for allegedly smoking
marijuana on Friday evening.
She was there with a friend to watch
the Brazil-Netherlands match, and
guess girlfriend thought she was in
Holland, and decided to spark one up!
Hilton was reportedly taken by police to the Mount Road Police
Station just before 8pm. Provincial Head of Detectives in Port
Elizabeth, Mark Magadlela, confirmed that Hilton was at the police
station and had been released.
Of course, Paris, who tweets every other minute, has failed to
mention this little detail. Her last tweet was two hours ago —she
wrote: “It's so beautiful here. I can't wait to go on the Safari this
week and see all the amazing animals.”
Earlier she wrote: “Had so much fun at the game today. What a
match! I love South Africa!”
Yeah, we’re sure she had a lot of “fun” before the authorities came
in to kill her buzz!
UPDATE: A blogger for Eyewitness News (EWN) in South Africa
writes on the network's Twitter.com page, "EWN can officially
confirm that socialite Paris Hilton has been arrested on a drug
related charge and will appear in court later tonight."
UPDATE: TMZ reports that Paris was not smoking pot herself, but
was taken into custody after someone in her entourage was
suspected of doing so. They say Hilton has not yet been released.
