Mary O’Connor – Hugh Hefner’s loveable secretary and den-mother who was featured on the reality series, “Girls Next Door” — passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013.
She had worked for Hef for more than 40 years.
Hefner tweeted the bad news on Sunday … saying, “Mary passed away today. We loved her more than words can say.”
Sources close to Hef say he is still taking the death “extremely hard.” They added that Mary was “the rock” of the Playboy mansion and the mood at the house is “incredibly sad.”
Hefner’s ex-Girlfriend, Kendra Wilkinson, also tweeted about Mary’s death … saying, “RIP Mary O’Connor. She was an amazing person who helped me through so much. But I know she’s happy with her boo Captain Bob. :)”
Mary who was reportedly in her 80s, had been dealing with some health issues recently.

Now, Hef’s new wife, Crystal Harris has put her wedding dress up for auction. She is selling the gown and shoes she wore for her wedding and all the proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society charity in the name Mary O’Connor.
The items are valued at $7,500 and the top bid currently stands at $1,000. The auction ends on February 11.
Mary is credited with helping Crystal get back together with 86-year-old Hef after she called off their original wedding.
Hugh said: “It’s Mary O’Connor that brought Crystal back. Crystal was miserable and said so. Mary told Crystal to write and tell me, which she did.”
