No, he didn’t wait for Da Grin to die before
moving on with his rap game. As a matter of
fact, Da Grin made a cameo on his new work
before exit. Pioneer Yoruba rapper, Lord of
Ajasa, officially unveiled his latest album to
the press on Tuesday.
The excited rapper feels very optimistic
about his new work titled 3rd Avenue. “I feel
real good about the album because it’s for
everybody; both young and old. Each track is
a hit on its own ”, he boasted.
3rd Avenue is Ajasa’s third attempt at
sustaining relevance on the Nigerian music
scene.
Lord of Ajasa
A lover of directions, his second album was
titled 2nd turning by the right. His new work
houses 13 tracks and parades cameos from
Pasuma, YQ, Jemima, Suspect, Virus, K-Solo,
Isolate, Reminese and Da Grin.
All songs on the album have K-Solo’s
production signature except for tracks, 6, 9
and 13 which were produced by Yeankeyz.
The album is marketed by Chilla
Entertainment. “It (3rd Avenue) is more
matured when compared to the last one in
terms of production and lyrical content ”,
Ajasa said. That’s left for all to agree or
disagree.

What's happening to CB?
For indigenes of Benue state, Friday, May 28
remains a day they will not forget in a
hurry.
Defying the torrential rain, thousands of
them trooped to the IBB Square to catch a
glimpse of the Democracy Day concert which
was in its second edition.
Omo Sexy... Front and Back
Contemporary Gospel Musician, Segun Obe
was just the right choice to herald guests
into the heart of the event; his soulful
rendition of the national anthem ignited the
fire of patrotism in the guests that were
present for the concert and got many asking
for more. After him came a string of
budding artistes who tried to out do one
another.
J Martins was the first in the league of the A
list artistes to mount the stage. He did
virtually all his songs. From hit tracks E no
Easy, to Oyoyo and the vivacious Eva, J
Martins was on point.
Nollywood was properly represented in the
food basket state as Clem Ohameze came
next after Helen Paul to hail the Makurdi
people. He appreciated them for the love
shown to Nollywood.
Then came the revelation of the night,
Omotola who was received with excitement.
Many wondered how well she would
perform that night. And did she deliver? Yes
she did and right too. She even shocked
many when she turned back and rolled her
backside to the delight of the crowd.
Moments later, Nigeria’s biggest music
export, 2face took to the stage and the
crowd went wild with ecstasy.
He thrilled the crowd with his hit songs one
after the other and spent about an hour on
the stage. With his live band, style, and
artistic stage presence, 2face was
unarguablely the class act of the night.

Three things are bound to endear you to
Empress Njamah, even though you hold
negative opinion about her lifestyle. They
are her friendliness, intelligence and
boldness to discuss issues affecting her
personality as well as her acting career.
These qualities last Monday were at play, as

Egberi Papa of Bayelsa, Inetimi Odom a.k.a
Timaya, made headlines in national dailies
early last year, was the guest of Saturday
Vanguard. Daring and bold, this Imo state
born actress takes the Saturday Vanguard
team on a tortuous trip through her love life,
insinuations, and most importantly, what
seemed to transpire between herself and
Timaya, amongst other revelations ….
Excerpt
You are welcome to Vanguard. Are you
married now?
I never told you I was married before.
We learnt you had a fight in the church with
Timaya. Was that true?
Was it the only thing you heard about me?
So many men fought over my hand in
marriage. I ’m not married yet. But I’m in a
relationship.
Who is this Mr. Right?
Even if I tell you the person, you might not
know him because he ’s not always in the
eye of the public.
What are you waiting for?
Well, I’m waiting for the right person, the
right time and also, when God says, this is
the appointed time.
I ’m not really looking for a customized man
as a husband. I’m taking my time to find
myself a husband.
What do you mean by waiting for God’s
time?
God’s time is the best. I haven’t seen the right
man that is meant for me. If I meet my
husband today, I wonder what will stop me
from marrying him the next day.
What are the qualities you look out for in
your man?
Like I said earlier, I’m not looking for a
customized man for a husband. He doesn’t
have to be tall, dark or slim per se. It has to
do with emotion.

Lady GaGa steals her sister's thunder
Lady Gaga
is infamous
for her
outrageous
outfits, and
refuses to
take a day
off from
being the
center of
attention, even if it is someone
else's special day.
Gaga showed up to her younger
sister ’s graduation from Convent
of the Sacred Heart wearing a
see-through lace jumpsuit and a
goth hat with veil.
Lady Gaga Has a Breakdown
Of course the paparazzi was
there to capture her every move,
something we're sure her sister
wasn't too pleased about.
Her poor sister only gets one day
to shine and Gaga steals her
thunder. So rude!
Meanwhile, we're hearing
whispers that Gaga is
considering posing for Playboy.
There's no confirmation or
denial from her camp, but the
spread wouldn't be any more
revealing than some of the
outfits she wears in her videos
and on stage. Do you think it's a
good idea? Tell us your
thoughts!

HHWA 2010:the props and flops
Darey...Best male vocalist and Wande had 5 awards in the kitty
Stories by Lolade Sowoolu
D-day has come and gone and thankfully there were more
applauses than disappointments even though some surprises
weren ’t so pleasant. Last Saturday in Lagos, all trooped out for the
very anticipated and prestigious Hip Hop World Awards 2010.
The Yellow Carpet was brilliant. The organisers, Smooth
Productions, seem to have perfected the art of setting up red
carpets which they dub ‘yellow carpet’ after their sponsors of three
years-MTN, whose corporate identity is expressed by the yellow
hue. Celebrities across different disciplines, especially the arts graced
the carpet which was set around the expansive pool side of Eko
Hotel & Suites.
A zillion camera flashes from a horde of cameramen, microphones,
reporters, presenters, blinding lights, stern looking security men,
rich cocktail all spiced up the yellow carpet. It lasted for more than
three hours and kept the awards proper from starting on time.
Limos were made available to convey VVIP guests from the
accreditation ground to the yellow carpet entrance. Many who had
bought the VIP tickets for N20, 000 were disappointed when they
found out only VVIPs could walk the yellow carpet. For some, it
was the beginning of upsets for the night, especially when the event
proper did not start until 11:15 pm - four hours behind schedule. It
dragged for another four hours, to end a few minutes past 3 am
Sunday morning.
Without an anchor, the ceremony took off featuring performances
from Goldie, Kefee, YQ, General Pype, Obiwon, Artquake. Jesse Jagz
featuring Muna, D ’Prince and Wande Coal.
Some of the boos of the night came when Terry Tha Rapman was
announced winner of Best Rap Single for his song Sample (remix)
and when Skuki went on to win the Next Rated category. Speaking
on performances, only Gen. Pype delivered a live performance. All
the others merely lip-synched- a big minus
