Van Vicker disappears from location

Notable Ghanaian actor, Van Vicker, who recently was crowned
with a Goodwill Ambassador Role with the United Nations High
Commission for Refugees, following his role in helping to alleviate
the pain of the earthquake victims in Haiti may be in for another
round of scandal.
An Asaba, Delta State capital based movie producer has raised
alarm, accusing the fair-complexioned actor of abandoning his on-
going production.
Van Vicker
Vicker, a source said, disappeared without traces last week while
they were shooting for a new film by Chez International Limited, in
Asaba.
The handsome actor, whose popularity has soared in the recent
times , left for New York last week to receive his Goodwill
Ambassador Role crown with the United Nations High
Commissions for Refugees. But according to the source, the
producer alleged that Van Vicker did not complete his own bargain
of the deal before travelling to New York.
Chibueze Ucheama, executive producer of the film, confirmed this
ugly development in a telephone conversation with HVP early in the
week.
Though Mr. Ucheama said Van Vicker has promised to return to the
location this Saturday (June 6), he still believes the lover-boy actor
has delayed the completion of his production, having signed a
contract for which he was paid. The movie is yet to be titled.
‘He travelled last Thursday. I went to see him in his hotel only to
discover that he had travelled to America. I called him on phone but
he said he was on his way to the embassy. That he would return
to complete the production. Right now, without his presence, we
cannot continue the shooting of the film. He has caused a delay in
the completion of my production, ” Ucheama lamented.
However, industry watchers believe that the Ghanaian actor has a
record of delaying productions he ’s involved in by always leaving
the set to pursue personal ventures and not returning on time to
work.

Award or not,my life comes first-Bimbo Akintola

Bold and daring, Bimbo Akintola was one of the nominees for this
year ’s AMAA Best Actress of the Year. Unfortunately, she could not
make it to the award ceremony held in Yenagoa two months ago.
She lost the crown to her Ghanaian counterparts, Lydia Forson, Na
Ashorkor Mensah_Doku and Jackie Appiah who emerged joint
winners of the coveted prize.
Bimbo Akintola
Speaking for the first time about the award, the unperturbed actress
said, “I really didn’t think about the award at all. It did not matter to
me, in respect of who emerged winners of the award or who did
not win it. ”
Bimbo disclosed that while the award night was held in Yenagoa,
on April 10, she was on a hospital admission for an disclosed
illness.
“I’m aware that I was nominated for the award, but about the
same time the award night was on, what mattered to me then was
to get well and leave the hospital bed. ”
The actress who started her acting career as an undergraduate,
more than a decade ago, when she starred in that highly successful
Yoruba movie, Owo Blow, in 1995, said she has taken time off the
screen to work on a number of projects.
She also reiterated her commitment to building a virile movie
industry.
“I have been pretty busy putting my house in together. Currently, I
have my soap running on AIT called, “Circle of Tree’. I’m also
working on another soap that will be hitting the air before the end of
the year. Like I said, I ’m putting my production outfit in place. I
cannot face the challenges of running my production outfit and at
the same, going on set. I prefer to sit back and run my own outfit
myself, ” she muted.
For Bimbo, as the industry is no longer lucrative as it used to be,
many practitioners are today trying their hands in producing films
and soaps, either to make the difference in the industry or for
material purpose.

Singing in hausa boosted my music-Zaki

Zaaki Azaay, a major act in the Nigerian music industry is our guest
today. In this chat with Sunday Entertainment the Benue State born
Hip Hop musician talks about his music career, the music industry
and more.
Excerpt:
Give us a brief history of your background?
Well, my name is Zaaki Azaay, that is my real name, it is not a
stage name, I was born and brought up in Kaduna State but I ’m an
indigene of Benue State. And I’m from Vandeikya Local
Government. Musically I have eight Albums I have just released the
latest one titled “Speed,” with my single “catch fire” still number
one everywhere since December last year.
How was it growing up as a child?
I was what you may call an ‘aje_butter’ of a kind because my father
was a Director General at the Federal Ministry of Information. As a
child we had drivers, cooks, gardeners, guards and a big house. It
was interesting because we had very good neighbours. But all that
changed when my father died, we had to start from the scratch
and that ’s the my story.
When did you start your musical carrier?
I started in 1993, I have been singing on T.V in Kaduna, but
professionally I released my first album in 1993, I was just 18 years
old then when I moved from Kaduna to Lagos in 1991 and started
chasing how to get a recording deal which nobody was willing to
give me at that time because I was doing hip_pop and the in thing
then was reggae and dance hall and raga music, but eventually I
got a recording deal with E.M.I,
That was the beginning of Zaaki Azaay and that was also the
beginning of hip_pop in Nigeria, and that is why everybody call me
the pioneer of hip_pop.
I understand you grew up in the North, does that account for why
almost all your songs are done in Hausa?
No, I can also speak my language very well. Most of my songs
have a lot of Hausa in it because there are more Hausa people than

I am changing my Image-Faze

He was the Faze of the now defunct popular R & B group-
Plantashun Boyz.
Together with TuFace and Black face, they made good music before
they decided to go solo. In no time, Chibuzor Oji aka Faze
established himself as one very capable of swinging the music tides
alone just like his ex-band members.
His high-pitch vocal clearly distinguishes him from all other male
artistes in the industry and won him the Best Vocalist Category at
the 2006 Hip Hop World Award. Faze has refused to fade away like
an old dress, instead he keeps coming stronger and stronger with
each song released, about ten years down the line. His three-album
solo history consists Faze Alone, Kolomental and Originality.
They are collectors’ items any day, anytime boasting songs that will
always resound even many years after. Ths sonorous singer,
songwriter and producer has had musical alliance with popular
international act, Akon. Here, he talks about his recent ventures and
his plan to re brand his image.
*Faze... Changing faces
The Plantashun Boyz. Do you still miss them?
Yes, I still miss them. In fact, we’re still the Plantashun Boyz
because wherever I go to, people still ask after Blackface and 2Face.
So, no matter how far we all go in life, we ’ll still remember that we
started as the Plantashun Boyz.
What exactly do you miss about the group?
Basically, it’s the different textures of our voices. When we were still
together, our fans could easily recognize our voices whenever we
sang. So, the different voices actually made us the Plantashun Boyz.
It’s been a while since you’ve been in the media .What have you
been up to?
I’ve been working on my new album and been keeping quiet
because I want it to be a surprise. The album is almost ready and it
will be out soon. But I think that I ’m ready for my single.
How soon will it be on radio?

Victoria Beckham Goes Nude

Victoria Beckham has finally found
her calling…fashion designer! She is
known to have impeccable fashion
taste and it really doesn ’t surprise us
that Posh would succeed as a fashion
designer.
Hollyscoop recently spoke to Posh at
the LG Fashion Touch Event where
she talked about the hot color of the
season and her favorite dress from
her collection. Oh and in case you
guys are wondering, Victoria Beckham is one of the nicest celebs
that Hollyscoop has every interviewed. She is very gracious and
polite, which doesn't match her rumored stone-cold persona.
“I love tinted neutrals and this is one of my favorite dresses of the
collection. I love prints, its comfortable and I love the oversize feel
about it, ” Victoria told Hollyscoop.
Tinted neutrals are very trendy this season. We recently wrote an

they are!
Other celebrities who have been sporting this trend recently include
Halle Berry, Rihanna, Kate Bosworth and Scarlett Johansson.

Lady GaGa involved in Bloody Murder Scene

Lady Gaga is known for pushing the
envelope with her performances, but
has she gone too far this time? The
controversial pop star has come
under fire for a recent performance in
the U.K. in which she simulated a
murder scene on stage.
It was a revisiting of the performance
Gaga did at the MTV Movie Awards.
This one took place in Manchester,
England, and she pretended to be
brutally attacked by her male dancers, before falling to the floor
covered in fake blood.
Christina Aguilera vs. Lady Gaga: Jealous Much?
People are outraged because it occurred just one day after a cab
driver went on a killing spree in the country, killing twelve people
before taking his own life. In addition, there was an incident last
week involving a PhD student in the country who was charged
with murdering three prostitutes.
Concert-goers were shocked and offended. One told the UK Sun,
"I'm a huge fan but was shocked like everyone else. It was sick,
especially after what happened in Bradford and Cumbria. It was just
over the top and gory."
Another concert-goer adds, "I'm absolutely sickened at what I saw.
We know Lady Gaga is not exactly mainstream for all the family,
but she crossed the line this time. It was extremely tasteless to see
her pretend to be attacked in such a gory way, especially in front of
kids."
Anti-violence campaigner Lynn Costello, spokesperson for Britain's
Mothers Against Violence charity, said, "I wouldn't let any child of
mine go to see Lady Gaga - I think she's tasteless anyway and this
scene appears to back what I believe.
"Something like this is tasteless at any time but so soon after what
happened in Bradford and Cumbria it also shows a total lack of
sensitivity to the families of the victims. These people seem more
concerned with selling tickets."
Check out the footage below. Is this just Lady Gaga expressing
herself, or did she take it too far this time?
